Join internationally-known photographer Craig Mitchelldyer at Mt. Hood as we learn how to photograph in the snow shooting snow-boarders and skiers. Pro Photo Supply is supplying on-location lighting, Canon is providing equipment, learn how to achieve dramatic lighting outdoors. Craig Mitchelldyer's photography has appeared in: The Oregonian, USA Today, NY Times, Newsweek and Sports Illustrated.
Agenda
1:30pm - Students and Staff arrive at Timberline Lodge. Short Meet and greet and gather gear. Staff and equipment will go up in 1st snowcat, setup inside the hut, cat will come back and pickup the rest of the students.
2:30pm - Everyone arrives to the Silcox hut (either by snowcat or they can ski in if they are so inclined to do so)
Lunch Served
3:00pm-5:00pm - Overview of lighting techniques, use of modifiers, tricks, big lights, small lights, etc. Will show work and talk about thought process and equipment used to make certain images. Indoor lighting demo with our models. Students will also get to shoot models indoors.
5:30ishpm- Light should be getting good, go outside and shoot dramatic outdoor photos (Pro Photo Supply will provide equipment for student use) Students take turns shooting. Shoot action images, lit action images, lit portraits, use gels, etc until after twilight (Sunset is 7:30pm).
8:00pm - Back inside, Students download talk about workflow, post processing, editing, etc. Critique student work, show slideshow of student images from the day
10:00pm - Portfolio reviews for those who want them.
Only 20 photographers can attend this seminar. Bring your camera, dress warm, and be ready to learn how to create dramatic lighting outdoors. |
