Print Competition
Quarterly Competition
The regular print competition is quarterly.
• Any PMPA member may submit three prints per quarter in the category of their choice.
• Categories are: Portrait, Wedding, Iillustrative, Commercial/industrial, scientific/technical, and electronic imaging artist.
• Judging is on an individual basis, based on PPA standards.
• Prints previously judged and scored 80 or more in PPA, PPW, WPPI, Western States, or other PPA affiliate competitions may not be entered in PMPA quarterly competitions.
• A print may only be entered once in a quarterly competition, however, it may be entered in the year end competition if it received a score of 76 or above in a monthly competition.
• Prints must be mounted on a 16 x 20 in. mount board having a minimum thickness of 1/8 in. and a maximum thickness of 1/4 in.
• The photographic portion of the print must be at least 80 square inches.
• The print must not be framed or include any photographer identification on the front.
• All entries must have a title.
• Entries will be accepted at the quarterly PMPA meeting until 7:30 PM.
• The three highest scoring prints will be awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for the month. Duplicate awards will be given in case of ties.
• The maker must be present during the quarterly competition.

Annual Awards from Quarterly Print Competitions
• Any member in good standing who has entered a category four or more times during the current year will be eligible for the "Top Photographer" awarded in that category. The award
will be based on the highest score resulting from the average of their four highest quarterly print scores providing the average score is at least 80.
• Any member in good standing who has entered six or more prints during the current year will be eligible for the "Photographer of the Year" award based on the highest score
resulting from an average of their six highest quarterly print scores providing the average score is at least 80.
Year End Print Competition
• Prints eligible for the year end print competition must have been entered in a current year quarterly competition and received a score of 76 or above.
• A print receiving 76 or above in a PMPA quarterly competition and later in the same year is entered into a state, regional, or national PPA or WPPI print competition will still be
eligible for the PMPA year end print competition of the same year, even if it received a score of 80 or above.
• Members may submit up to six eligible prints in the PMPA year end print competition.
• The three highest scoring prints in each category will be awarded1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for that category providing the score is at least 80.
• A "print of the year will be awarded based on the highest score of all prints entered in the year end competition.
• The maker need not be present at the year end print competition.
